WebJun 20, 2012 · I have done extensive testing with several powders including H335, shooting Sierra 52 HPBT's, Sierra 53 Matchking FB's, and Berger 52 Gr Match Bullets. In my rifle, I've found BLC-2 performs the best at or around 28.7 gr pushing the 52 Gr Bergers or Sierras. And here too, the BLC-2 way out performed the H335. Some of the data I've seen indicates that some of the information floating around on "temperature insensitivity" in certain lines of powder may be more hype than reality.

Not great for 223 but IMR-4064 is one of the least temperature sensitive powders and is in the same class as the Hodgdon extruded powders in that regard. H322 and IMR-8208 XBR are very temperature insensitive compared to most other powders.

At 500yrds, the difference in an 85degree day vs. a 32degree day for the "extreme powder" is about 2".
