WebDec 17, 2024 · The gun was old and tired, but by golly, it worked! I grew to love the 45 1911, knowing that I could count on it. I remember being both frustrated and amused by USMC policy. Even while guarding senior officers and high ranking government officials, I was required to carry the 1911 unloaded, with two magazines in a pouch on my belt. Such as; the gun has 10,000 rounds through it and has gone through 5 recoil springs , two extractors. etc. I am trying to get a idea as to just how tough the 1911 design can be.

Had to send it back to the factory when the TCM started jamming bad (it was an early TCM model). They fixed that no questions asked. Next my wife started shooting IDPA practice with it and after a couple thousand rounds the 9mm started having failure to eject.
WebJul 26, 2024 · Any 1911/2011 for serious professional, carry or competition use does require more maintenance than most of the plastic, striker-fired guns. However, if that maintenance is performed, a properly setup 1911/2011 such as the Staccato P can run really well. To date I have not had a malfunction with round nose ammo (shooting about 8k of the total).

The frame is the last thing to go.
